Bali seemed like the perfect place to start my fashion journey—and in many ways, it was. The island offered low minimum order quantities (MOQs), affordable production costs, and a vibrant entrepreneurial community full of inspiring creatives chasing their dreams.
But as my brand evolved into business wear, Bali wasn’t the right fit anymore. The manufacturers there specialized in casual or summer wear—not tailored pieces for professionals. Additionally, shipping costs to Europe were high, which impacted my margins significantly.
Bali was an amazing starting point for learning and making mistakes without breaking the bank—but sometimes you have to move on to find the right fit for your vision.
